The short version
- Our visit statistics are cookie-free — no cookies, no IP addresses, no personal data.
- We set no optional cookies unless you accept them in the cookie banner.
- The Google map only loads (and only sets Google cookies) if you choose to load it.
- Details you send us via the contact form or newsletter are used only to reply or to send the newsletter — never sold or shared for marketing.
What we collect and why
Contact form enquiries
When you send an enquiry we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional) and message. We use these solely to respond and arrange your booking. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (6(1)(f)). Enquiry emails are delivered via our email provider, Resend.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address with our newsletter provider, Brevo, and use it to send MOT reminders, seasonal car care tips and garage news. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Cookie-free site statistics
We count page views, referrers and campaign tags using an anonymous counter built into this site. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and no personal data — visits cannot be linked to you. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, this does not require consent.
Optional analytics (Google Analytics 4)
Only if you click Accept in the cookie banner, we may load Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets the cookies listed below and processes data under Google's terms. If you reject (or simply ignore) the banner, Google Analytics is never loaded. You can change your mind any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Google Maps
The map on our homepage and contact page is provided by Google Maps. It does not load automatically: it loads if you press "Load map" (or have accepted optional cookies), at which point Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website: Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), Brevo (newsletter), and — only with your consent — Google (analytics, maps). They process data on our behalf and cannot use it for their own marketing. We never sell your data.
How long we keep things
Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up work. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Anonymous statistics contain no personal data and are kept for trend history.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or stop using your personal data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Just call or message us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changing your cookie choice
Click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to bring the banner back and change your choice. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings.
